The Poor Rich Juggler---by Nathan Dorrell

There once was a juggler from far-far-away. (point in both directions with opposite hands while juggling)  Way across the ocean (lookout-put one hand over your brow and look one way, then put the other hand over and look the other way...while juggling of course).  He had heard about America (cup hand to ear) and that the streets of America were paved with gold (bounce three off ground).   So he wanted to come to America (slam) and get rich.   He wanted to have lots and lots of money in both pockets (pat each pocket while juggling).  So he saved his money and got a boat ticket and sailed and sailed across the ocean (shower to right while side stepping to the right--then switch and shower to the left while side stepping to the left.)  Which ever way that was...(repeat the last trick).  Finally he saw the sight he was waiting to see, the Statue of Liberty standing tall in the New York Harbor (statue of liberty--right hand high above your head, left by your side doing a half shower.)  He was so excited that he jumped off the boat (one ball jump-over bounce).   He learned quickly that there was no gold on the streets (neck catch the yellow ball if one is yellow).  And he had to start out slowly (slow motion--by catching each ball on the side of the neck and shoulder switching sides).  But he got better and better (slap-ups--a kind of reverse claw).  Faster and faster (claw).   Until he became known as the king of jugglers--and he wore his crown of juggling balls proudly (head placement everyone from the right hand.)   He impressed all the Americans with his amazing tricks (erics extension) (head roll).  After a while he realized that he would be the richest man in his home town, so he decided he would go back home.  First, he went shopping and found (throw contact juggling ball--preferably clear acrylic from behind your back) the biggest, most beautiful diamond he'd ever seen.   And he spent every penny he had made while in America on it...knowing that it would make him even richer back home.  So he got back onto a boat to go home (cage the acrylic).  He sailed back through the waves (back-to-back-to-back transfers, then arm transfers) and around the world (around the world from the back of the right hand around the chest to the left hand).  Along the way, he met a man that recognized him.   The man said, "I recognize you, you're supposed to be the king of jugglers, the best in the world!  If that's true, impress me right now."

(At this point if you're doing this...just use your best tricks and a variety of props to try to impress the guy...)

The juggler said, "No problem, all I need are these three clubs to impress everyone!" (3 clubs, up the middle, egg-beaters, chops, back crosses, run-under-leg, solid flourishes)  And everyone cheered (pause for clapping).  Except that one guy.  He said, "I'm still not impressed."   "No problem" the juggler said.  I'll juggle 4. (4 clubs, half-shower, right hand behind the back, splits, flat).  This time the whole audience was so impressed they ooed and ahed...(pause)  But not that one guy...

Do the same thing with 5 balls, 5 clubs, 6 rings, 7 beanbags, 9 blocks...

Finally, that was the last straw.  The juggler reached deep in his pocket and pulled out the diamond that had cost every penny he made while he was in America.  He said, "I never miss.  I'll take my entire life fortune, with these two juggling balls and throw it up so high that you can barely see it...then I'll catch it and keep juggling."  He took the diamond in his hand (ball on string fake) and threw it up (throw it high and catch it and continue to juggle).  And he caught it and kept juggling.  The man was almost impressed...he said, "Just a little bit higher, so high I can't see it at all and I'll be impressed."   "No problem" the juggler said.  (polish the ball while juggling by blowing on it and rubbing it on your shirt.)  He took the diamond in his hand again (cross fake--taking one ball through the two in one hand pattern with the inactive hand.)   This time he threw it out of sight (throw it up higher and catch it without continuing to juggle).  But when it came down, the boat lurched forward in the water...and the diamond fell into the ocean (contact juggling moves from here on with the diamond ball.)

The moral of the story is:
If you put your faith in yourself--you throw your life away.
But if you put your faith in God--you have a new hope and new life each and every day!
Look at your life, in who’s hands does it fall?
God’s perfect hands have room for us all!

God sent Jesus so that we could put our lives into His PERFECT HANDS!
Won’t you believe in Him—rather than throw your life away?
"For God so loved the world. . ." John 3:16
