Kathy and Nathan's mission work was featured in the Sept/Oct 2001 issue of On Mission magazine.  The focus of the article was on their involvement in mission work and their work in churches.  Nathan and Kathy consider themselves juggling-missionaries with a heart for evangelism.  Together they hope to help out missionaries and mission teams around the world with their creative evangelism.  Both Nathan and Kathy have experienced all sorts of mission work first hand and love being used by God!  Here is some of what they have done.

Mission Work:

Kathy served on summer mission teams before we were married:

  1. Venezuela, 1999--did clown ministry, VBS, prayer walking, and concerts to share the gospel.

  2. Nassau, Bahamas, 1999--served as VBS leader working with children.

  3. Nassau, Bahamas, 2000--served as the site coordinator for the summer mission team doing everything that needed to be done!

Nathan did summer missions during college before we were married:

1. Knoxville, TN 1991--Worked with inner-city programs in Fifth Avenue Baptist Church.
2. Alaska, 1992--Worked in the Hatcher Pass Association on a traveling revival and Vacation Bible School team.
3. Chile, South America, 1993--Served on a short term team to Chile where we worked in area churches, street ministry, prison ministry and much more.
4. Gatlinburg, TN, 1994--Worked with Smoky Mountain Resort Ministries on the Creative Arts Team.
5. Savannah, GA, 1995--Worked with the Savannah Area Resort Ministries which includes Tybe Island Beach ministries, River Street Ministries, area churches, etc.

Two year mission service:
1.  Missionary in Washington, DC, 1995-1997; worked as special ministries coordinator for the DC Baptist Convention doing resort ministry on the National Mall and other tourist areas of DC, as well as other special ministry projects.

Short term Mission Assistance:
1. Rio de Janeiro, Brazil 2000: worked with Impact Carnival. Reaching out to party goers on the streets during their Mardis gras type celebration.

(AFTER WE GOT MARRIED)

2. Gatlinburg, TN, 2001:  Both Kathy and I did street evangelism/outreach through drawing and juggling.  We also trained local career and summer missionaries to use simple drawings to share the gospel.

3.  2003 we went on mission to SD with a wonderful Church from Jackson, TN where we worked on the Oglala Indian Reservation

4.  2004 we went on our first family mission trip to Poland.

5.  2006 went on our second family mission trip to Poland.  Both times we did community outreach and school programs, inviting the community to come to a gospel presentation or to come to the church to see us again.

6.  2006 we took a family mission trip to the Bahamas and worked with kids in AWANA there as well as doing personal evangelism 1-on-1.
