What we did in 2001 & 2002   Our Wedding   Other Hobbies/Interests   Nathan's Christian Stories  Accomplishments/Honors   Education   Evangelism Training/Education

Kathy started juggling on Oct. 16, 1999.  She came to TX to go to a wedding shower with one of her best friends.  She had wanted to learn and had asked Nathan to teach her...she got it in less than 5 minutes!  She "caught the juggle-bug" and by Christmas she was doing some tricks and started juggling clubs.

I (Nathan) started juggling when I was in about 6th or 7th grade.  But all I did was learn the basics. . .I didn't practice after that, I just would pick up some balls every once in a while to show people.  When I went to college, I had a genuine experience with Jesus Christ. . .and I understood that I was to serve Him.  I didn't know what I could do, but I offered my summer to serve God.  I was appointed as a summer missionary to Knoxville, TN and I worked at Fifth Avenue Baptist Church at the Cherry St. Exit in Knoxville.  I was working with lots of inner-city kids and I couldn't seem to get their attention.  One night, I was praying for help and a way to get their attention and really be able to share God's love with them.  After I was done praying, I was just staring at the floor.  Well, there were three balls sitting on the floor.   I finally thought, "Maybe that's it.  Maybe I need to learn to share while I juggle."  I didn't know how to do that, or if I would be able to, but I started practicing.  After juggling for a little bit, I decided I needed a story to tell.  I thought of the story in the Bible about the talents and I sat down and wrote a story to go with that story that was about juggling.  The next day, I tried it.   I wasn't a spectacular juggler, or excellent at telling stories while juggling at that time, but it worked!  God had answered my prayers with juggling!

That first story I wrote, back in Knoxville, TN, was very basic: The Talentless Juggler
